Today in Retro Music History… In 1985, “Shout” by TEARS FOR FEARS hits #1, for the first of 3 weeks. It follows in the footsteps of their first chart topper, “Everybody Wants To Rule The World”.
This next one doesn’t really count as Retro History, but on August 2nd, 2014, WEIRD AL YANKOVIC has his first #1 album, featuring parodies of “Blurred Lines” by ROBYN THICKE, “Royals” by LORDE, and “Happy” by PHARREL WILLIAMS. I only mention this because I have been a Weird Al fan since the 80’s and the Doctor Demento show on radio! You can watch most of the Weird Al videos on YouTube! I recommend it!
