A brief history of Kevy's Retro Lounge:
 Several years ago, (in a land far, far away), Kevy's Retro Lounge was an actual place at my home in south Garland, Texas. It was loosely modeled around the B-52's - LOVE SHACK video. Retro 1980's music played 24/7. I would host Happy Hours, private partys, dinners, music video watch partys, and dance partys. Due to some unfortunate life events, I was forced to move out of my home and into a small apartment. That is when KevysRetroLounge.com was born, and The Lounge as a real place, was closed.
 Through the website, I was able to continue to interact with my 80's friends, and have some fun with Top 10 lists, discussion boards, and more. However after a couple of years, due to other life changes, I eventually lost the website. The name was then bought by someone else who never used it. It just recently became available again, and so here we are!

So now what?
 The new website will bring back the original intent and feel of the old site. We will have discussion boards to talk about all things 80's, especially what we do best, "retro music"! Kevy's blog will return so I can talk about what is on my mind at the moment. One of our most popular features from the past, our Top 10 Lists, will return as well. Plus, we are currently working on a Podcast that will talk about individual bands, genres, 80's music history and more! All of this and much more coming soon!

What is "retro music"?
 This question always makes me laugh. It is not just one kind of music. KevysRetroLounge is centered around 1980's music of all kinds. That can be New Wave, Rock, Pop, Disco, One Hit Wonders, all different kinds of sub-genres as well. We also put in some 1970's and 1990's, as well as other surprises!

Who is Kevy?
 Kevy is a.k.a. D.J. Kevy Kev. I have been a disc jockey for the last 42 years. I am the webmaster of this website, and writer/director/producer of our upcoming podcast. As D.J. Kevy Kev I began my career as a disc jockey in 1978 in the dance clubs of west Dallas Texas, in the old Europian Crossroads area, near Dallas Love Field Airport. In 1980 I started my own mobile disc jockey company doing private partys and wedding receptions, while still spinning in the nightclub industry. In 1986, I transitioned to the gentleman's club industry while still doing mobile gigs and appearances at select bars in the D/FW metroplex and Oklahoma City, OK. In 2016, after 38 years in the nightclub industry, I "retired" from the daily D.J. scene and opened a retail business. I still do some private D.J. events for my mobile DJ company and special appearances through this website.
